At the system level in Etowah County Schools, she supervised various departments including Curriculum, Instructional Technology, Library Media, School Improvement, and English Learners. She completed her doctorate at the University of Alabama with a focus on curriculum and school reform. In 2015, she moved to the Alabama Department of Education in the Office of Student Learning to provide supports in school turnaround in central and north Alabama districts. Before her appointment, she served four years as the Assistant Principal of William R. Martin Middle School. She has 18 years in public education. Before serving as an administrator, she served the students of Dallas County as an ELA teacher for middle and high school. Dr. Calhoun has a B.A. in English and a M.Ed in Instructional Leadership, both from the University of Montevallo. She also holds a M.Ed in English/Language Arts Education from Alabama State University. She has earned an Ed.S in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University and a Ph.D in Christian Education from a theological institute. Ms. Nolin has been an educator at CHMS for seven years. Prior to working at Charles Henderson Middle School, Amanda worked diligently as a special education aide at Enterprise Junior High School in Enterprise, Alabama for five years. Ms. Nolin is a proud alum of the University of West Florida where she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in History and a Minor in Education. While working at Enterprise Junior High School, Amanda pursued her Masters of Education in History from Faulkner University. While working as a special education aide, Ms. Nolin worked in small group setting with students, reinforcing reading, mathematics, and life skills. She was responsible for managing student engagement in reading and mathematics RTI. At Charles Henderson Middle School, Ms. Nolin has taught a myriad of varying social studies classes ranging from the state required Civics and Geography, Ancient World History - collaborative, general, and currently Advanced levels - as well as African Studies, Archaeology/ Geology/Anthropology, Current Issues, and International Studies. Amanda has been the Department Chair for Social Studies for five years. She also is the sponsor for Student Government Association and Junior Beta Club. Ms. Nolin also initiated the establishment of a debate club for the students at CHMS. Dr. Sibley earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications (2004), Master of Arts in Education (2010), and Doctor of Philosophy in Education (2017) degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Sibley is also a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), holding an Early Childhood Generalist certificate (2014) with the National Board for Professional Standards (NBPTS). An active member of several professional organizations, Dr. Sibley serves as the 2021-2023 National President of Black Women Education Leaders, Inc. She is also a founding member of the Alabama Alliance of Black School Educators (AL-ABSE) and the National Board Network of Accomplished Minoritized Educators (NB-NAME). Dr. Sibley is proud to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS). She has received many awards and recognitions, including being honored in the 2020 Hall of Fame with Black Women Education Leaders, Inc., receiving the 2016 Outstanding Service Award from Alabama State University – Central Alabama Regional Education Inservice Center and earning the distinguishment of 2015 Educator of the Year from Junior Achievement of Alabama.
